About Daniel
I own Blair Academy For The Arts - A founding school with the Royal Conservatory of Music. We host an All-Star cast of instructors and teach ~200 private lessons a week.
Beginning my studies at the age of 7 under Timothy Barrett (a student of Dr Suzuki), my professional debut occurred at 13 performing Vivaldi’s Concerto for 4 violins with the Symphony of the Mountains Orchestra.
My story then changed dramatically: I finished high school at the age of 14 with a plan to attend medical school (I wanted a "real" job). After 4 years in the Emergency Department and applying to dozens of Medical Schools I realized that if I put the same effort into my music as my career – music could be my career. Classical Music (my foundation) has taught me the value of practicing with maniacal consistency. Playing Southern Gospel music for years taught me to appreciate the people who take the time to hear me play. My musical influences include Victor Borge, Karen Briggs, Marc O'Connor and David Garrett. With hundreds of live performances behind me, I have been able to fully enjoy a life of playing Mendelssohn one minute and Charlie Daniels the next. In my spare time I enjoy making Music Video covers and have just completed an instrumental folk album with some exceptionally talented friends of mine.
